Why is the Foundation called L'EMPREINTE?

L’EMPREINTE is a French word meaning “the imprint.” We chose it because it reflects the essence of what we do—capturing moments, memories, and connections that leave a lasting mark. It is the unrepeatable imprint of each life and story that we seek to honour.
What kinds of families does L’EMPREINTE support?

We support families navigating serious illness, terminal illness, and end-of-life care. Our focus is on helping families create meaningful memories together at a time of significant need.

How do you choose which families receive support?

Families are referred to us through healthcare providers, palliative care networks, or community connections. We prioritise those experiencing significant need and ensure support is offered with compassion, dignity, and care.
Can I suggest a family to receive a photoshoot?

Yes. If you know a family who could benefit, please reach out via our contact page or submit an application. We handle all referrals with sensitivity and respect.
Do you only work in Australia, or internationally as well?

Our programs are currently based in Australia. As we grow, we hope to expand our reach and share resources internationally.

Photoshoots

How do I apply for a photoshoot for my family or a loved one?

You can apply through our website by completing the application form or sending an email to hello@lempreinte.foundation. Our small team will be in touch to guide you through the process and arrange the details.
Who takes the photos?

Our photoshoots are offered through a network of professional photographers who generously donate their time and skill. Each is carefully chosen for their compassion and ability to sensitively capture meaningful moments.
Where do the photoshoots take place?

Shoots usually take place in a location that feels most comfortable and natural for the family — often at home, in hospital, hospice, or a favourite outdoor space. Through generous sponsors, we often have professional studios made available to us.
Is there a cost for the photoshoots?

No. Photoshoots are gifted to families at no cost, thanks to the generosity of our photographers and the support of donors.
Can I volunteer as a photographer?

Yes. If you’re a professional photographer interested in joining our network, we’d love to hear from you. Please join our network here. We'd be so grateful to partner with you.

Donations

How will my donation be used?

Your donation directly supports families navigating serious illness, terminal illness, and end-of-life care. Funds help provide free-photoshoots, emotional support programs, memory-preserving initiatives, and resources that ease the burden during this time.
Can I donate in memory of someone?

Absolutely. Many supporters choose to give in memory of a loved one. You can dedicate your donation by emailing hello@lempreinte.foundation, and we can provide a personalised acknowledgement if requested.
Can businesses or organisations donate?
