Instead, we share flowers emerging from darkness. Not as decoration, but as gentle stand-ins for the human experience.
Flowers live briefly. They open, receive the light, and quietly fade. Their beauty is not something they perform, it simply exists, for as long as it can. In this way, they reflect something deeply familiar about life itself. To photograph a flower is to honour impermanence, tenderness and presence, without asking anything more of the subject.
The fragmented background is intentional. It removes context and distraction, allowing only form, fragility and light to remain. A single stem becomes universal. A petal becomes a quiet gesture. In their stillness, flowers offer a way of seeing without exposure. They invite reflection without requiring identity.
L’EMPREINTE means imprint, an impression left by time, touch or passage. Flowers leave no lasting trace, yet their presence lingers in memory. So too with human life. We are here for a season, shaped by moments of care, attention and connection. Meaning is not found in permanence, but in the love we share while we are here.
The work of this Foundation is grounded in those moments. We exist to gently document families during seasons of profound vulnerability, offering photography as a way to hold what might otherwise pass too quickly. In these spaces, sensitivity matters more than visibility. Dignity matters more than display.
By choosing flowers in place of faces, we honour the same principle that guides our work: to witness without intrusion, to preserve without taking, and to treat every life with quiet reverence.
These images are a soft threshold. A reminder that every life, like every bloom, carries meaning simply by being here, however briefly, however gently, in the light.
